Inspired by the wonderful new documentary, "Disneyland's Forgotten Sci-Fi Rock Band - Live From the Space Stage," I wrote a song told in the eyes of the lead singer of Halyx, a story of big dreams, momentary triumph, broken promises and ultimate heartbreak.
Halyx Rising (Lora's Song)
v1: mom and dad, mom and dad
got the break i’ve been waiting for
all my life, all my life
i’ve been knocking upon that door
v2: all my friends, look at me
i’m up on the lighted stage
all the fans will agree, we were the local rage
chorus: i was lost in a dream, a trunk full of memories
a fantasy that somehow we’d make it, somehow we’d make it
but my fantasy was not to be
and now i’m back waiting tables at the spaghetti factory
but this dream lives on inside of me, inside of me
v3: we were good, we were great, i’ll never forget those days
i loved to get up and sing but now i must turn the page
bridge: look up in the sky, is that a Halyx rising?
sky, is that a Halyx rising?
to all the true believers, hello, hello
thank you for keeping the dream alive
